Open your pores with really hot water, clean or exfoliate. Then close your pores with really really cold water. This prevents dirt and other things from getting back in. Think of it as opening up and cleaning, then closing again. It works wonders. And I know what you mean by nothing working. You can overdo it with medicine.

I also use Zit Zapper by E.L.F cosmetics, it's a dollar and It's going to last awhile.

Have you tried using a face cleanser nightly? Also if a lot of the over the counter treatments aren't working you can try seeing a dermatologist. =]

Hey Dustin,

You can't expect a facial cleanser to work overnight or even in a couple weeks.
It has always been said that you should wait 6 weeks for maximum effects.

A light cleanser will work for you. Something like Neutrogena (yes I know you are a guy) would be really good. Or Clean and Clear. You don't leave these on overnight. You should wash your face morning and night.

Also, once your acne is gone, that doesn't mean you should discontinue using the face wash. You want to keep the acne gone as well.

I hope this helped.

Hey there,

If you think your acne is that bad I would really recommend seeing a doctor. I tried two different medication, and numerous creams and the only thing that's ever worked for me is going on the pill! Most likely if your doctor thinks you will be unresponsive to medication he can prescribe, he will refer you to a dermatologist.

I hope this helps. (:
