Hey there,

If it's bleeding through the dressing you should not remove the dressing. Add more over the top, and ideally keep it raised and apply pressure. Obviously with the location it's in, it will be difficult to do so. Try laying down with your foot resting on a few pillows and adding another dressing or bandage over the one you already have. As for the pain, try some paracetamol or ibuprofen. The pain will pass, and there's really very little that you can do at the moment, aside from wait.

I hope everything works out for you!
Marie.

If it's bleeding really bad, you should do. If you leave it to keep bleeding it will only make it worse. I know with diabetes it's important to keep an eye on your feet and your blood sugar, but it's really not too relevant when you're losing blood. I'm a keen supporter for you wrapping it up and keeping it elevated.
