Acne Scars - October 27th 2010, 11:55 PM

Hey. I used to have really severe acne on my back, I had it for around 2 years. I did a course of antibiotics (roaccutane) and now the acne has cleared up. (I finished the antibiotics around March).

The only problem is now I have red scars on the top of my back, where my acne was, which is really unattractive and I'm very concious of it. Does anyone know of any way to get rid of the scarring??

Any help appreciated, thanks

Hey there!

There are a few ways of reducing the visible signs of scarring, however there's no real way of getting rid of them completely without skin grafts. Have you tried Bio Oil at all? I'd definitely try it for a starting point.

I hope this helps.

They'll fade after a bit, I used to have some on my face that are barely visible anymore. Give it some time, and if they continue to bother you, talk to your dermatologist. They typically have some options available.

try bio oil its good for scaring, strech mark reduction, and dehydrated skin. coca butter is also good for scaring but i would say that bio oil works better than coca butter,, but you could always use both, bio oil is pretty pricey but is worth it,coca butter is cheaper and does work to some extent. but its up to you.
