It could be thrush, but then again, it might not be. I don't think you'll do yourself any harm using the cream though. But to know for sure, just see your doctor. It can't hurt to go.

It could be thrush but you can't know for sure. I recommend that you go to the doctor to make sure.

Re: itching ' down there' - November 4th 2010, 03:35 PM

the thrush cream is helping ive also been applying sudo cream ( anti septic cream which also seems to be helping) if it doesnt get better and i do make a doctor's appointment, am i aloud to request to see a female doctor as my usual doctor is male and i really would not feel comfortable seeing a male doctor and having a male doctor look around down there. also ive recently been doctors for a bladder infection and now something else has gone wrong down there. last time i went doctors i told them im not sexualy active because im not, and am still not sexually active, i dont want the doctors judging me or thinking im telling them lies about being sexually active.

also before i got the irritaton / itching down there the day before i got the irritation / itching down there i accidently used shampoo down there without realising till i put the bottle back down and realised as soon as i had put the bottle back down that i had used shampoo, this is the only thing i can think of that would have caused this irritation, would it be worth tallking to a pharmacist first describing whats wrong down there to the pharmacist and then if it gets worse see a doctor ?

It could just be a bit sensitive down there from the soapy shampoo. And it might go away on it's own in a few days, and the thrush cream can't hurt to use either.

I'm sure you can request to see a female doctor, or they might say you could see a nurse. You can also go to a family planning clinic for this sort of thing. I went the other week. I think it can't hurt to see a doctor if you're concerned though. But it could be something that might go away in a few days. You can either wait it out or just make an appointment.

And they won't judge you for anything.

Take care!

I've requested a female doctor lots of times, they shouldn't mind because they're there to help you and want you to be comfortable. I think it's totally fine to ask for a female doctor and they shouldn't have a problem with that.

I expect the itch will go away over time but you might want to make an appointment to put your mind at ease.
