I know what helped me when I had to go up to the Mayo Clinic was to bring a CD player/mp3 player/ipod anything to play music, a book, stuff to do to keep your mind distracted or something that helps you relax or calm your nerves. It won't be 100% helpful when it comes close to appointment time, but it will help most of the time.

I would say, focus on your breathing. Slow deep breathes.

Can you maybe bring a friend with you for the ride there?
Also, bring something that is comforting to you.

-Books
-Movie

Hey there,

I agree with everyone else so far who has said to take something that will keep you relaxed or take your mind off things while you're travelling there. Taking your iPod is a really good idea because I know that music always helps me through any situation that I might be in. Anyway, I just wanted to say that, I hope that everything goes okay at the appointment and even though I know you're scared, it's much better to know what the problem is so that they can help you and make you feel better. Good luck and please let us know how you get on! Take care.

just try not to worry about it. as scary as it sounds, they'll deal with nervous people on a daily basis and they are only there to help you. they'll talk through everything with you and make sure you understand it all.. i'm sure it won't be as bad as you're imagining. sleep in the car or listen to music to get it off your mind. i hope it goes well!

..and our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears..
