There is a small chance that the foil may have scratched the cornea.
However, the eye could just be feeling a bit sore from having a foreign body in it. You will probably find that the soreness disappears within the next day or so, perhaps quicker. If the pain doesn't lessen or if you notice anything different, it would be worth visiting an optician just to be sure it's okay.

Back in the 1970s, aluminum powder/dust is a useful treatment of conjunctivitis when administered with certain antibiotics or boric acid. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4117842.html
However, aluminum by itself in the eye can be quite harmful and painful. Since you got most of it out already and there's little pain, your eye probably is fine and any damage would be very minor. The only cause for concern is if you notice your vision changes even in tiny ways or your eye continues to be sore. In that case, you'd probably be given eye drops, such as Vigamox/Moxeza to flush out any debris from the eye. If nothing noticeable happens, other than some conjunctivitis (which Vigamox/Moxeza and other eye drops treat), then it'd be worth while heading over to your opthamologist, otherwise it's probably not necessary. I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

Ooooh ouchie
![]() Like the others have sorta said, it should get better on it's own. It might water a bit or go red, but that's totally normal. But iif it doesn't get better in the next two days or so, I'd recommend a visit to an optician or doctor <3

I do have a Dr's appointment booked for in 3 weeks time, my vision is fine and I got it all out as I could see it in my eye when I looked in the mirror so managed to get it out quite easily, it came out easily too. It's a bit redder in the corner than the other eye and still a tiny bit sore but its not painful and only sore to the touch.
