Blisters . - October 12th 2011, 03:41 PM

I never ever get blisters, like never but today I wore some new trainers I got over the weekend and They have rubbed I now have two blisters on my heels one blister on each heel. Basicly is there any way I can stop them being so painful, ones burst and the other has not, but they are so painful. I know that I should let them 'air' and avoid walking on them - thankfully I have tommorow off work so can rest my feet a-bit, but what do I do on friday. I work in a pre-school so am on my feet a-lot. How do I make them feel ''better'' and how do I stop them getting worse on friday ?

When I get blisters & I have to wear shoes, I put band-aids over them & wear comfortable socks. I know it's not a lot, but really the best thing to do is to let them heal on their own.

To add to this, I'd also use neosporin, or some sort of healing cream on them to help them heal faster. But, using bandaids to cover them is really your best bet.

If they still hurt and you have to wear shoes, there are donut-shaped blister pads like this: http://images.esportshealth.com/imag...29063fl_dt.jpg. They make is so the shoes don't put too much pressure on the blister.

Band-aids or blister pads, neosporin, and thick socks. Nothing else to do really.

To prevent them, don't wear new shoes for more than a couple hours a day for the first week or two. New shoes are not formed to the shape of your foot yet and is very uncomfortable for your feet. Work them in before wearing them long periods of time. Friday, wear some old shoes you have to avoid further irritation.

Also, if you HAVE to wear your new shoes for some reason, slather on some vaseline/petroleum jelly and then put your sock on. This will help prevent irritation.

So you have gray hair and you're only 26

that's just another reason I love you...

I wish I could wear old shoes but where I work has a 'black shoe policy' Which means black enclosed shoes such as trainers must be worn no excuses. And these new trainers are the only ones I have (old ones fell apart). I am using plasters /band aids. And will wear thick socks or two pairs of socks on Friday. Both blisters have burst. I will try using some vaseline. But yesterday was the first time I wore them for about 7 hours solid walking all day. (i wore them around the house and everything ) but yesterday they still rubbed. But I will give some of the ideas suggested above a go.

Unfortunately, it will take more than just a few days for the shoes to form to your feet. It usually takes a week or two. For band-aids don't use the type that sticks to your skin all around the blisters. Instead, use one that will allow airflow to get through.
