Numb arm.. -
October 28th 2011, 02:21 PM
So, the last week.. both my arms have been numb when I wake up and probs about an hour after waking up.. but mainly my right arm. It also looks swollen (right hand). My thinking is it's not getting enough blood flow to that area.. so I hang it over the bed and that usually helps, but only until I bring it up again. Also, throughout the day it get tired quicker and sometimes gets numb there too.
And this just started about a week ago. What's going on with my arm ![]() And please don't just tell me to go to the doctor. I plan on it.. but I'd like to hear input first. Thanks! ![]() I was looking for a breath of life For a little touch of heavenly light But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh |

Hi there Lynds!
![]() Yup, you got it right. Your arms are not getting enough blood flow, or generally, your circulation might be hampered. Sometimes, just getting up and jumping about a little can help increase circulation. To improve your circulation, if that's it, then, you could just sit for a few minutes with your back straight, breathe in through one nostril holding the other and breathe out through the other nostril holding the first one closed. Arm numbness could also mean a pinched nerve, so ya, you should get that checked out. Lol. Tiredness could be maybe because you're working yourself out. It could be fatigue or something. I don't know your habits, but I'm just assuming. If you're feeling really tired, then give yourself some rest, and don't overwork yourself, and get 7 hours of sleep a day. Hopefully it'll sort itself out. Do let me know what the doc says. ![]() Take care hun, Kav. ~Through the wind and the rain She stands hard as a stone In a world that she can't rise above But her dreams give her wings And she flies to a place where she's loved. Concrete Angel. If you ever need to talk, I'm here for you! My PM box is always open! (: Make no mistake, every prayer you pray gets answered. Even though, sometimes, the answer, is no. . . ![]() HelpLINK Mentor - 2.4.2011 LiveHelp Operator - 18.6.2011 |

Thanks for the input both of you
![]() I don't go to school, but I lift a lot for my job. It could very well be a pinched nerve. It sucks though. Lol ![]() I was looking for a breath of life For a little touch of heavenly light But all the choirs in my head say, no oh oh |

Do some kind of light exercise, to raise your blood pressure... something that will get the blood flowing. You could also get a light weight, like 1kg, and do some curls with it, or even just swing it about randomly if you feel like it, anything that gives your arm some movement. Don't swing it too violently though lol, it could worsen then.
If you've got some spare time, read this:
http://www.teenhelp.org/forums/f40-s...-d/#post631229 But don't if you're easily triggered. If you're not easily triggered then go ahead. ![]() |
