Dark circles on skin won't go away! Help. -
December 28th 2011, 07:21 PM
Alright, a year or so ago I noticed a few dark redish brown circles on my lower chest, and after atempts to scrub them off in the shower failed I went to my mother about it. She simply joked saying that it was my mexican trying to come out (Since I'm a quarter mexican but very pail in complexion), and told me not to worry about it, since it would probably go away with time and a few more showers. Yet over time I've noticed that they not only aren't going away, but they are actually growing. They are now on my upper stomach, all the way up my chest, on the sides and under my breasts, along with up my shoulders and all the way to the top of my neck. They range in size from a smaller bead (like the type you would put in your hair) to a 50 cent coin. My mother still won't take it seriously and no amount of lotion or scrubbing has taken them off. They are a bit rougher in texture than my normal skin, but they don't hinder hair growth or anything like that.
Does anyone know what they are, and how I can get rid of them? I already can't hide the ones on my neck with most shirts, and I'm afraid it'll move all the way up to my face. |

Have you had a lot of exposure to the sun when you were little or now? I definitely suggest a visit to the doctor. It sounds like it could be a skin disease (not all are harmful, some just are annoying). Anything that spreads is something to get looked at
![]() I'm sure you will be fine. But this is unusual. Do they itch? Is it a pink/red color? The only thing I could think of is Pityriasis rosea , but it doesn't sound quite right. Take a look at some images of it and see if it's similar. So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

As Kelly said above, I would definitely suggest taking a trip to the doctor's.
If your mother dismisses your concerns, try explaining to her that you want to be safe than sorry. Mention that the rash has spread and, whilst it might not be anything serious, you want to get it looked at to make sure. Keep us posted. I hope it's nothing severe.

When I was really little I used to be outside alot, but that was way before they appeared. To be honest, I pretty much live inside all of the time, though I do have really sensitive skin.
Nope, but they are pink/red in color. Wow, they do look quite a bit like that, but I've had them to long to match it. |

That's a general time length, but I've had rashes much longer than doctor's have expected, so it still could be.
Think you can get to a doctor? So you have gray hair and you're only 26
