Acne and Acne Scars?

Hey all,

Yep, I have acne. It's not even that BAD, it's just all centered in between my eyes so it's a place where everyone tends to look, so it's got me really insecure. I get it mostly around my period and then it takes forever to go away. I tried Proactiv on it and that barely worked. OXY worked for a while but now it's not working as much. Is there anything else I can use that would be good on my acne? I just want to get rid of it.

Also, I'm on birth control now and my doctor said it could help my acne. I haven't been on it a month yet. How long should I wait before I do anything else about my acne? My mom was thinking of taking me to a dermatologist.

I have a habit of rubbing too hard when washing my face which pops the pimples and it leaves scars. Is there anything that I can use to reduce acne scars?

Well I see a dermatologist already & the stuff that I have prevents acne plus helps with any scarring. So a dermatologist would definitely be worth it. There is also cocoa butter. It's good for helping with marks like that, however something prescribed from the dermatologist might help fast & also prevent acne at the same time.

As Barbra has said, the best way forward is go to a dermatologist. See, using cocoa butter can work but because it's so oily it can sometimes make the issue worse- the same for Bio-oil. Was you put on birth control to stop acne? Or for the fact it could help your periods? If you were put on it purely for your acne then i'd go back. If it's for controlling your periods then it's a case of pot luck whether it would help your acne. Some people get acne from BC. I know I did for a few weeks.

So yeah, in short, go and see that dermatologist x

Thanks. I saw my doctor for a physical today and she said she can give me something for the acne. As for the BC I may have to go off of it anyway because of a complication, so we'll see!

I tried proactiv, clearasil and all those "supposedly" acne medications and nothing worked. What i try to use is just natural stuff with no chemicals . something I use is a facial mask which is 2 egg yolks no whites and a few lemon drops ,I mixed everything together and let it set on my face for 30 to 50 minutes.I then peel it off(at first you won't be able to peel it off until your skin gets use to it) so just wash your face to get rid of it .after that wet a small towel with really hot water until you can stand it and put this wet towel on your face for like 4 seconds and wet the towel again with really hot water and to the same.repeat this at least 10 times. I swear it worked for me now I'm pimple free and no dark spots.You can do this facial at least 2 times a week.as
