Hello there!

I'm sorry to hear you need knee surgery and to hear of the situation you had with your last operation. What was the last op on? If it was the anaesthetic that caused you to nearly die then they can try a different type. Or, it may have been the type of surgery that you had that almost killed you. Knee surgery is pretty straight forward and happens all the time! Did you not bring these concerns up at your pre-op assessment? Either way, speak to the nurse who admits you in the morning. They can help put your mind at ease. Try not to let it panic you. Have a nice bath and a hot milky drink (Before midnight) and watch something on TV.

I wish you all the best with your operation and i'm sure they'll look after you

Well the anaesthatist will have all the notes from previous operations and if you were at risk of dying from the anaesthetic then they wouldn't put you under. Instead the would have used an epidural. But, seeing as they are putting you under i'm going to say that it was a result of your previous operation rather than the anaesthetic. You will be ok. As I said, knee ops are very common. Try not to worry about it.

Don't be scared! Tell the nurses that your a little worried and they'll make you feel at home. And i'm not sure if you are going under for your surgery but many people are always worried about waking up. They keep you on a low dose iv drip that keeps you asleep. So no worries!
