Have you ever seen someone else on meth? - December 12th 2017, 12:53 AM

(as someone who has never done it and while you were sober)

I have. It was over a year ago, and the memory still affects me.

Someone close to me. Someone else who is also struggling with addiction to cope with depression and trauma.

It was scary. Nothing like all the other drugs I've seen, and I've seen a lot (other people and myself). It went horribly wrong, although that person is still alive--but they've been forever changed too.

I just need someone to talk to who has seen something like this before, from where I stand; I don't know if there's anyone here who can relate. If so, would you be willing to talk about this in PM?

It wasn't meth but I have seen my mom high as a kite on speed and probably drunk at the same time. It is really scary. I have seen her high and drunk loads of times. I can some what relate. So if you need to talk you can always PM/VM me anytime.

It's okay not to be okay
Sometimes it's hard, to follow your heart
Tears don't mean you're losing, everybody's bruising,
Just be true to who you are

With the units I work on at my work, I have seen people high on just about anything they can get high on. Some of them are just very scary.

Hello there,

Seeing anyone on drugs is a scary experience to witness and sometimes you aren't sure what to do for them. I am glad that person is okay and has been forever changed.

I have seen many people on drugs, a variety of types and each type has it's own problems. One thing that is the same is that someone acts differently. What is different could be the smell of the drugs they took that you can smell on them. For instance meth has a very nauseous smell to it that gives you a headache when you are near them.

It is an overall scary experience to witness.

For instance a few weeks ago I needed to call 9-1-1 while on public transit to report three people intoxicated to the point their behaviour wasn't normal. I was concerned about them and called which the police and ambulance took them. I saved their lives as they were on multiple drugs.

In cases where you need to call someone or 9-1-1 because of someone s behaviour because of them being intoxicated or on drugs, it can be scary but it would be scarier if someone didn't intervene.

Trusting your gut in instances of others intoxicated and present themselves differently than others is a good reason to call for help. It can shake you up seeing them being arrested or taken into an ambulance but what is important is that you are helping that person.

I am not sure what happened for you but I am glad your friend is okay. You are welcome to PM me anytime to talk about it or message me through the Chat Room system.

Take care.

Re: Have you ever seen someone else on meth? - December 19th 2017, 05:40 AM

Hey there,

I have family who have done meth; I currently have a family member who is doing it and we haven't talked since about 2012. I have seen a lot of different things pertaining to meth and it is scary. It is also heartbreaking to see someone struggling in that manner. I am not sure, exactly, what you witnessed with the situation but if you would like to chat you can message me. I might not be able to relate, exactly, but I have seen a lot of different things and so I might be able to relate a bit.

I hope that you are doing well and will be able to get support for this.

Best regards.

i have a friend who is doing meth and is currently trying to get his life back on track. i believe it can be very difficult to do so. i myself have tried and failed to get clean from drugs but it wasn't meth so i can't give you a lot of insight.

there is a youtube channel called "cg kid" which makes videos with a guy who is a former drug addict and 4 years clean of meth and heroin and he even offers to talk to recovering addicts over recovery and other things over text or email. i'd suggest emailing or texting him if you want someone to talk to or more resources as he also makes a lot of helpful videos.

feel free to PM or VM me if you need someone to talk to, i always have a listening ear and i never judge anyone.
