Nicotine gum - October 10th 2011, 08:00 PM

I haven't smoked for over a year () but I'm still chewing nicotine gum. I chew about 6-7 pieces a day. I'm addicted to it. I haven't chewed one all day and I feel like crap. I feel twitchy. I keep tapping my fingers against things and it's annoying people

I'm chewing normal chewing gum instead but it's not working.

I need to quit. They're bloody expensive >.> I know cigarettes are more expensive but these aren't exactly cheap.

Help.

The fact that you quit smoking is great it really goes to show you’ve got a strong character. Slowly cut down on the gum try to only have 2-3 peaces a day rather then 7. It’s going to take more hard work to completely kick this habit but I think the hardest part is behind you. Another thing you can try is switching to regular gum it’ll still keep you occupied. Once you find something that works for you stick with it.

Consider this all a lesson learned and be proud you saved years of your life by making an educated decision and quitting.

I haven't chewed one in three days now I feel better than I did on the first day. I'm still a bit twitchy though.

I've tried cutting down before and if I have pieces next to me I will chew them without thinking.

I think I may have to quit cold-turkey.

Quitting cold turkey is the best way, like I mentioned above the hardest part is behind you. Now think of all the money you’ll save.
