Question Being Polite!!!! - August 10th 2012, 11:20 AM

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooood evening guys, name's Hamed for the very few people that don't know. I am so popular that there are very few people who don't know.

Nah, I kid, I'm lonely. I'm lonely....

Nah, I'm only joking. Although I am kind of lonely at the moment because none of my friends are online .

Anyway, ramble stops now, my question! I loooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeee the thought of letter writing. I was planning on writing a friend a letter a couple of months ago for her birthday, there is something very special about letter writing that I seriously thought she deserved .

It didn't quite work out unfortunately, because I asked her friend for the address but she wouldn't give it to me because of how personal the address is...............

But that comes to ask my queston, what is a polite way to ask someone for their address LOL?

I know stacks of people who letter write to friends they have online, but the address is such an awkward thing to ask for LOL.

I don't know, it sounds stupid but that's whassup.

If you guys are close online or whatever, it shouldn't be a big deal. Just ask her for her mailing address because you have something you would like to send her . Or if it's her home address and she feels uncomfortable giving it out, to a friend or family member who has a box #?

A bit of an awkward situation there. Good luck!

It really depends on how close you are to this person. Perhaps you could let your friend know that you really would just like to write her a letter and ask for her address. Deciding whether or not to give it to you is going to be a personal decision on her end, but if she knows what your intentions are, it might help her feel a bit more comfortable with the situation.

wanderlust consumed her;
foreign hearts & exotic minds compelled her.
she had a gypsy soul
and a vibrant heart for the unknown.

Hey Hamed!

Awesome question, I actually wondered the same thing not too long ago. In agreement with the others though, I would suggest just casually bringing it up. Say something along the lines of, "Hey if you don't mind I have a letter to send to you(or I would like to send you a letter), would you mind if we exchanged addresses? If not, I completely understand(this gives them an out without making things seem awkward), but I just thought I would ask."

It kinda depends on how you want to ask personally, but in general, if you're just kind and gentle about the way you ask them, I don't think too many are going to have a huge issue with it. The thing is, I think some people could think it was odd because they may view letter writing as something that is "out dated" or odd for someone to do. But I'm with you 100%. So yeah, I hope this was helpful! As always, if you have any questions feel free to let me know! Good luck!
