Unhappy Feeling like a brat. - May 29th 2009, 01:42 PM

I thought things we're getting better but now we've hit another speed bump and this one is going to be difficult to climb.

On Bank holiday I had to get rid of all my old toys it sounds stupid in my mid-teens, I still had my barbie's ha-ha. But It was nice to have them their it remind me I am still a kid in away, if anyone asked I just say they we're my little cousion because when they come we play with them which we did at times. I had to let them go and I feel like I've lost something big in my life so now I'm clinging onto my drawings and reading and writings

I managed to go out with a friend wednesday but she was so moody she was bringing down my happy vibes. It sorta' sucked a little and she keeps talking rubbish, when her problems can be easily to sorted out.

for 2 days I stayed in side I didn't really want to go out side although it was nice, I just felt like I wanted to do something different so today and yesterday I was reading and watching some Manga/anime, writing in my journel. My mum called me from work saying Nina do you want to do something today? I said no thanks I'd rather stay in doors.

My brothers gone in to the city today so I'm home alone and I like it. I love being inderpentant. Obviously not all the time but its nice to be on my own every once in a while. As for my mum she thinks I need to change completely.

She called me and start saying how my friends use me...as she'sa last restort which is more or less true and now getting me a summer job...I don't know what to do I feel so trapped at the moment...I feel like such a brat. I'm probablly complaining to much but I don't know what to do and I always feel like such a burden!

I feel like I'm trapped.
Sorry if I'm being an idiot, I get that alot. ha-ha

Hi Nina,

If keeping your old toys makes you a kid, then I must be quite the kid! I still have all of my old stuffies from my childhood and I don't know if I'll ever give them up! It is normal to have connections with things you have spent a lot of time with, so don't feel bad about feeling bad! I think it's great that you are now keeping your writing and drawings close, because those are just as important. Having things that you've taken the time to write and draw out is very special, and having those as keepsakes is great.

It is irritating when you lose happy vibes, but sometimes friends just need someone to listen and vent to. That's completely normal, so don't blame it on your friend for bringing down the day. I'm sure she didn't mean to make it go so badly. She probably really appreciates you taking the time to listen to her.

Being independent is a good step in growing up, and it really shows signs of responsibility when you can take care of yourself. All the same, try not to take the relationship with your mom and your friends for granted. You may like spending time alone, but try and put some of your time aside for them as well.

A summer job is a good idea too! What I suggest doing is researching jobs in your area that you would actually enjoy doing. There are plenty of opportunities out there, and I'm sure you can find one that suits your interests.

Just try to balance your time between your friends, family, job, and YOU time and you wont feel as trapped.
(And you're definitely NOT being an idiot, so don't worry! )

Nat.

The great artists of our time are the ones who created something timeless. But it was never them defining it that way.
Everyone has a story. What's yours?
