Friendships after high school - May 22nd 2010, 08:28 PM

I will be graduating soon and have one specific friend I really don't want to loose. My problem is I have never really hung out with that friend anywhere but high school, and I've really had some fun days with this person. I don't use places like myspace/facebook/etc. but do have there number but to this day have not really texted or called seeing as we seen each other every day. From what I gather we both feel about the same way, and both feel bad that we may not see each other anymore. I'm not leaving the area and to my knowledge neither are they at the time. But I just wonder how exactly to keep in contact with them and keep the friendship good.

Welcome to TeenHelp, Tacon! =D

Well, you have your friend's phone number, and you'll both be staying in the area for a while... so why not just call him/her a few days after you've graduated, and ask if you can meet up at a restaurant, mall, library, etc. You'll still be hanging out together, talking about the same things... just in a different setting. =)

After one or both of you have moved away, things will probably change... but you can still call one another every now and then (especially when you know you'll both be in town). Keep in touch around the holidays, birthdays, important events, etc. My best friend from high school invited me to her wedding about a year and a half ago, and we didn't really talk to one another afterward. Last weekend, though, we got together... and it was like nothing had changed. =D Well, aside from the fact that we're both in college, so our interests/daily lives are different... but we have the same bond now that we did three years ago!
