Is there anyway I can help my friend? - June 12th 2010, 12:13 PM

Okay, so, I have this friend (Julia) who's really nice. Last night, we went to an end of year party together at the school both our siblings go to. We were hanging out with this other girl who is friends with Julia, and we were getting along and it was fine and stuff.

Then we went into a little corner, and Julia's friend spiked their drinks with vodka. Luckily, I didn't have any of my coca-cola, so I didn't have to drink any, but after a few minutes, I ran off to be by myself and cried for ages. Later on, I went as far away as I could and started hitting myself because I felt I was so stupid for not being able to do anything.

The thing is, this isn't the first time that this has happened. I've never seen her doing anything like it before, but for the past year she's been going to parties and smoking, doing shisha, and once, smoking pot. I'm really, really worried about her, but I don't know how to help her.
Is there any way I can help her?

Have you tried talking to her? Sometimes just a little word like "I'm worried about you" is all it takes. She might not even know that her behaviour is worrying you.

Communication is the key.

Yeah, I've tried talking to her. I think she knows that I'm worried about her...

Why where you hurting yourself about somthing she did? I'm not quite sure what the problem is I think you just need to have a talk with her about how your really worried about whats she's doing. But in the end, it's her life to do with what she wants.

For first just keep being a good friend. Secondly don't do what she's doing. Being an example is the best way. And thirdly keep telling her and reminding her that that ain't right.

I came here to help out, so if you wanna talk or just need someone to bounce ideas or issues off of or something else then send me a message and I will reply as soon as I can.
