losing a best friend? - August 2nd 2010, 11:29 AM

I went overseas with 2 of my best frineds for 6 weeks. Me and one of my best friends had a really bad argument, i was feeling left out and told her and she basically let everything out.. told me i was selfish, self centreed, unwililng to compromise, that she was 'compromising' when she let me talk about my boyfriend - since its so boring for her, basically i went to defend myself and she told me she "didnt want to argue"...

and we didn't talk about it again.

now that we are back, she hasn't called me in 1 1/2 weeks. she usually calls every day or so. We have seen eachother once at a mutal friends gathering, both of us being invited seperatley. and she has organised a few social events without me since (just her and a few people.. not like parties that ive been left out of).

I feel so so hurt about the stuff she said, but she HATES discussing stuff like that and like i said earlier just told me no, when i wanted to actually dicuss it. i tried to bring it up once overseas and she told me not to be ridiculous and she was trying to sleep.

I dont want to call her, because she usually would call me, so if she isn't calling it's because she doesn't want to. she def isn't busy as she has lost her job so is sitting at home all day.

I don't really know what to do.. pretty much after she said that stuff i figured no way she can think all that or whats the point of being my friend. but i guess if she did think all of that maybe she just doesn't want to be my friend anymore?

I dont have a lot of close friends and i valued our friendship (weve been best friends for 8 years).. but at the same time no one else seems to have a problem with me, including the other girl on the trip.

i just feel really lonley im used to talking to her all the time, but i dont want to call her since i feel like she made it quite clear she doesnt enjoy talking to me anymore.

I think you should call her, or maybe stop by her house. Even if she doesn't want to talk about it, she needs to. Serious matters like this shouldn't be argued over and forgotten about. People get mad, people get into arguments. Sure, she was probably really mad but how do you know that she isn't doing the same thing you are? Maybe she's sitting at home with her phone in her hand just waiting to call you but she's afraid that you won't want to talk to her for the same reasons.

I've been through hell and back and came out stronger than ever.
