Does this sound odd to you? - September 22nd 2010, 06:17 PM

I didn't know where to put this so here it goes. My friend David in college has always seemed a bit odd to me. He was also in my old class two years ago. He also went to my friend's old school and he said he was strange. I thought little of it and just give him a chance.

Lately he has been following my friend Hannah a lot. He always stares at her and he always seem to be where she is (I'm starting to think he may be stalking her) She said yesterday (it was my afternoon off) he was in the canteen and just kept watching her eating and he was sitting there on his own. She said it seemed like he just followed her there to watch her.

Ummm... does this sound weird?

to be honest: yes

it definitely seems odd that he's like always there, and seems to be watching her.

but it could just be a coincidence, ya never know. for a couple quarters when i first started college, i kept running into this girl from my math classes all over the school (though i certainly never sat and watched her eat )

i would certainly make sure that Hannah keeps an eye on him though...

Yes, it does sound weird... but maybe he's doing all of this because he doesn't know how to approach Hannah normally? He could be "stalking" her because he doesn't have the confidence to walk up to her and say hello. He could be staring at her during meals because he doesn't believe she'd enjoy his company. Why not talk to him about his behavior, and suggest "healthier", more effective ways for him to befriend Hannah?

On the other hand... if you believe he might hurt Hannah (ex. follow her back to her dorm room), tell her immediately, and offer to help her contact the proper authorities. You may want to get a male friend to come with you and confront David about his unacceptable behavior.

But the thing is they have talked :/ I introduced them to eachother. They've talked quite a bit, he just acts odd towards her. I told her if anything else happens to tell Sasha (our tutor)

That is weird but I would recommend you to tell him to stop acting weird towards Hannah just straight up, or you can just try not to go to the places were he is.

Aww...be nice. He's just shy!

I think you should talk to David and ask him about his feelings towards her. When you two are alone or not surrounded by people that may intimidate him. I think it's vital that you get his view on the topic so you have a better understanding of why he does the things he does. Before you get some guy to confront him or the authorities involved...
