Is Anyone's Family Like This Too? - September 24th 2010, 05:32 PM

My family never invites me anywhere. I don't know what it is. They never call and ask if I want to go out for coffee or do anything fun. I feel really left out sometimes and I wish I could at least get an invite. Is it normal for families to do this? I almost feel like there is something wrong with me...

You're not alone. My family does the same thing. And the rare occasion that I do get an invite, it's super last minute.

I'm on the other side my family over calls me my sister is always calling my parents too and my brother only calls me when he needs sometime but I guess it's because we are very close I eat with my father at least two times a week and with my mother 3 times a week and then we have a lunch were only my silblings and I go. Maybe you should try calling them instead and set up something to do and if you can't get them all together invite each one individual to go eat or sometime.

I was doing that for awhile and It just makes it uncomfortable. I feel like they don't want to hangout or do anything with me and that's why they aren't very responsive. I actually stopped calling people.

What do I do? I feel like they don't like who I am. How do I find out if that's the problem?

The only way you can see what the problem is is talking to eachother individually and asking why they don't try to make an effort to spend time with you. Theycan just be busy with their life sometime I do have to admit I get caught up in my own little world I forget about the people around me and I am really thankful when they call and see what's goin on. I don't think they have something against you, you seem like a nce person maybe they just are too into their life. If you don't want to ask them in person try emailing them to meet up and have a chat.
