Unhappy Tearing apart - September 25th 2011, 12:37 PM

I have been working in one NGO for about a year. It was volunteering with no pay at all. During the year I've made some good friends and went on an internship this summer. When I got back, I've realized that I can't be volunteering there anymore. Coz' I'm getting really overwhelmed with school work and a freelance part-time job. Currently, everything seems empty... I just want to quipped the NGO thing... But it is hard for me coz my friends are there and I don't want to disappoint them...

How can I get out of this slum?

Hopes are to keep us alive, dreams are to make us fly, both are to be found around so keep searching =)

Hey Kaya.

Prioritising is something we all have to do in life.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice things you like to do for things that are more important.

Whilst volunteering is a valuable use of anyone's time, school is more valuable to you right now. You shouldn't let it suffer because of volunteering.

Explain to your friends that it's just not possible right now. If they are good friends they will understand that you have other commitments. Maybe you could arrange to still see each other in order to remain friends?
