Ruth's Journey - November 2nd 2014, 01:42 AM

I don't know how many Gone With the Wind fans that we have here, but I just downloaded Ruth's Journey to mu Kindle Fire and, so far, I love it!

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about:

Ruth's Journey is a character prequel to Gone With the Wind.
It details the life of Scarlett's colored maid, Mammy, before she came to the O'Hara's.
It's written by Donald McCaig, who also wrote Rhett Butler's People.

Personally, I enjoy McCaig's writings over Alexandrea Ripley's Scarlett for the simple reason that, before Margaret Mitchell died, she vowed that she would never write a sequel to Gone With the Wind. After she passed, Ripley violated her wishes and went on to write Scarlett.
Donald McCaig's writings are, both, Margaret Mitchell's Estate approved.

Anyway, how many people have finished Ruth's Journey?
What did you think?

I love Gone With The Wind but I haven't actually heard of this book until now. I'll have to see if I can check it out somehow. I don't have a Kindle or anything so I'll have to do some digging to find it.
