Well said, very well said.

I couldn't agree more that bullying should always be a point of focus.

I'm not a victim of bullying myself, but I've been a 'Student Mentor' for three years back at my High School, taking care of the newbies to the school, being a shoulder to cry on, a person to talk to and just being there in breaks to do some surveillance.

Bullying could be spotted all over the school and taking the side of the victim is so easy, yet not enough people do it, because they're afraid to be bullied themselves, or they don't want their 'social image' to suffer from it. It's sad to where society has come, but it's everyday life. Speaking up is key. Let yourself be heard.

Or do they? Nah. Ask and you shall be answered!

Obama failed to act when several gay teens committed suicide last year. We've always had to fend for ourselves, we dont need his help now or ever for that fact.

I think I respect that man even more right now. I'm glad he's taking it seriously and is urging parents/teachers to take it seriously too.

I'm glad Obama is addressing this. Bullying is not a problem that can just fix itself - especially with all the technology that offers an easy way to bully.

I personally decided, when I started high school, that I wouldn't be a mute bystander to bullying. I vowed to stand up for people, because sometimes that's the problem. It breaks my heart to think about how many lives could be saved if a bystander had acted.

You need to consider how much is on his plate right now. He may be the president, but he has a lot he needs to handle right now. Obviously he does care, as stated in the article.

I respect Obama and I think he is doing all that he can to help out our nation.

I'm in the UK, but I saw this video somewhere I volunteer for, specifically for bullying. It's good that Obama is addressing that bullying must not be tolerated.

This is a really good thing and I’m happy there’s a good president in place to correct these major issues that just got over looked. Bullying is without a doubt one of the worst things for some people when it comes to school. Kids are cruel and they can destroy the self-esteem of another classmate which would defiantly make in hard to learn in that environment. Where I live in Canada they are already cracking down on bullying and rightfully so.

Sythan, you can’t blame one man for this happing, as far as I'm considerned socity can use all the help it can get. However it would have saved a lot of tears had this been done sooner, hard feels aside I’m grateful he’s taking action later then never. In my school when I was growing up I saw bullying everywhere, I was never a victim thankfully but teachers did little to stop it. I honestly believe if someone gets bullied as a child it can have a horrible impact on them when they are older. I can’t stand a bully and frankly they are everywhere in the work place at school and at home. The best defence against a bully is not to care and not put up with it. I’ve always been a strong believer in self-defence and I think it’s perfectly fine to physically hurt someone that try’s to inflect harm on you in anyway, bullies should not have control over others.
