I'm a foster kid, I get picked on, everyone knows my story in town because I was fostered locally to where my dad lived me, the kids at school find it funny to relate me to my dad. Today this girl just set me off and I beat her up...My foster family was furious. I went for a walk(I snuck out) after my brother bailed me out and I saw her, she started making smart ass comments and its pissing me off. I just want to go and punch her one, I was going to head over there, but my brothers best friend saw me and grabbed me pulling me to his car, I broke the grounding rules and once again I have disapointed my family because of bullies, but I don't get if this is even bullying...

I'm sorry to hear what you are going through, and yes - it definitely is bullying.
It's easy to get lost in the hate that you feel for those who hurt you. I know, I was bullied pretty badly for most of my public school life.
Bekki, You can't let the hate consume you. It will take over your life if you let it - it might even feel good for a while, but I promise you that it will only bring you further down.
Physical violence is only a short term solution, and much less effective than the tend and befriend method.

When you have an enemy or someone treating you badly - it is usually because of ignorance or indifference about your situation. How do you fix that? with kindness.

I suggest explaining to your foster family about why you beat that girl up. They may help you in getting the school involved.

Yes, this is a form of bullying. Picking one someone diliberatly to upset them is of course bullying and should be treated as such. I'd suggest telling someone about this. You do not deserve to be in trouble because people are upsetting you, you should be allowed to be happy and enjoy things.

Try to control your anger. Perhaps try going to anger management or asking someone you know how to stay relaxed when you're getting worked up. Remember that physical violence is bad too, and you should be the bigger person by solving the problem in other ways. I know it's going to be hard to find other ways of getting stress out, but maybe a stress ball could help you with that when you're out. It's up to what works for you, but try some things out.

If you want to talk to me, you're more than welcome to. I know just what bullying does to a person, so I'm happy to listen to your rants and offer you suggestions. I hope you get through this though, my PM box is always open.

I would say there are two options you can take. First, when you are insulted, instead of becoming angry, laugh at the comments while somewhat accepting them as being true. The goal of this is it is such an unusual reaction, it kills the enjoyment most bullies have from mere verbal insults. The key though is to not lash out against the bullies, remain calm and laugh. You might also try telling them their insults are unoriginal and boring, bait them for more original insults and when they cannot produce any (or simply say any new insults are unoriginal), mock their inability to produce original insults.

Second, you don't accept the comments as true but tell the bullies (ideally when there are many people around) how pathetic they are that resort to bullying one harmless girl in order to make themselves feel good. The idea is to somewhat humiliate the bullies by mentioning what they are doing. It is beneficial to have an audience because you can use them to increase the humiliation, such as saying "how many people are seeing you for what you truly are, a weak pathetic person, etc...". The audience can also be beneficial if a fight breaks out, hopefully they will stop it or at least you can run into the audience and have the audience stop the bullies from attacking you. The overall goal of this humiliation is to turn the tables onto them and to briefly bully them, however, you don't want to continue the bullying, only give a small amount.
