Aniexity to go outside because of recent news - July 18th 2017, 10:46 AM

Has anyone seen all the acid attacks going on not only in London but in the UK in general? I'm starting to get scared to go anywhere.

Any useful advice I get so stressed over things like this.

Hey Justin,

The news about the rise in acid attacks is scary! That said, it may help to put it into context that even though there is a rise in acid attacks, they are still pretty uncommon (which is why they often make the news).

You can also take comfort in the fact that since there has been an increase in attacks, the government is now considering more restrictions for buying acid as well as increasing the punishment for those that get caught attacking. This will hopefully lower the attacks, so you'll have less to worry about!

In general though, it may be best to lower the amount of news that you watch, if you find it triggers your anxiety. Or watch the news but remind yourself that these attacks are still pretty uncommon and you shouldn't avoid doing what you usually do out of fear (especially since it may not necessarily happen).

Hope this helps a bit
