What's happening?? - July 8th 2011, 11:22 AM

Yesturday I was sitting in my room texting my friend. Suddenly I heard this gigantic smash (And I mean, GIGANTIC), like glass shattering. I thought someone was trying to break into the house. I got a huugee fright and ran out of my room. I actually started shaking. My aunt was standing by the bathroom (like in the middle of the passage). She saw me all freaked out and asked what was wrong. She didn't even hear it!!! After that I got really freaked. I know there's probably a resonable explaination for it; like something outside in the street, but I swear it was IN the house!!!! What if it's something else?

I know that sounds a bit far-fetched but I've been having really bad headaches the whole year. I've also been really paranoid....like I'm scared to stand by beds in case something is underneith, I don't like looking at myself in the mirror (I have absolutely no idead why, but my reflection scares me), I cannot leave the closet door open at night (and I'm too scared to close it myself; I ask my mom to do it), I HATE people, not personally, but I hate going to the mall because there's just sooo many people. I never used to be like this!
I also have insomnia (only since recently though). I usually go the bed at about nine or half past nine, and often I lie awake until twelve, or one in the morning. Because of this I'm always tired and cranky.

Anyway, I'm not trying to self-diagnose myself with something, but I'm just confused to why is happening? Some suggestions? thanks!

Sounds like pretty bad case of anxiety.

Most people don't think that doesn't connect, but it totally does.

I used to be like that, but after some help from a psychologist and a little medication, I was on my way. I suggest you seek some help of your own (professional help).

I agree that it sounds like anxiety. I have to sleep with my closet shut to and I have to check everywhere to make sure nothing is hiding. Also I sleep in the corner by my wall with all of my pillows surrounding me like a wall. I have been recenlty even started to like twitch really bad before I actually get to sleep and my heart races like crazy. I haven't been diagnosed but was wondering if the last part happens to you too? Also insomnia is another thing I seem to have, though not trying to self diagnose. I get snot 3 hours of sleep on a good night.

Hey, sorry for the delay. The other day I got diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, general worry and anxiety about everything....like worried all the time. Shana, maybe you should check this out? It not serious and can be easily treated. It's apparently quite common, so maybe you might have it too?

Wait a second... Did you mention the headaches? Head trauma can imitate many things, from Anxiety, to different mood disorders, or whatever else.

I suggest letting your doctor know about the headaches, since they could be the most important piece of the puzzle.

I spoke to him about it, apparently it's caused by back/shoulder problems which are party caused by anxiety, partly caused by the postion that I sleep in. He gave me these excersises to do that supposed to relieve the pain! We'll see what happens!
