Dissapointment - July 5th 2012, 11:23 AM

A couple of months back I had an interview to apply for Level 3 Media at college, however I only got into Level 2.
I was upset about it for a while, especially since my friend who also applied for the same course got in the higher level.
For a while I convinced myself that this was ultimately better, that it was a chance for me to improve my skills over a longer period of time, and I actually thought of better benefits for doing the lower level.
Then that feeling decreased, as my over two best friends also got into the higher levels of their chosen courses.
Basically, I just feel a bit of an idiot.
I've never in my life felt intelligent or as if I have any talent, which makes this situation worse. If other people don't see much potential in me, how can I feel confident?
I think mostly I'm just jealous and frustrated. I thought that I could succeed in the media business, but now I'm just not sure. I just want to stop this feeling

Don't be dissapointed, there will be many opportunities to improve in the future, whether it be in this or another skill.
You may not have done as good as your friend, but you achieved something. Other people don't matter in this case, focus on whats best for you (:

Ever since I met you.. it hasn't been the same. All you got me doing is drawing hearts around your name <3
Me without you is like a sneaker without laces, a geek without braces andasentancewithoutspaces.

Hey Kirsty,

Just like Rachi said, other people don't matter in this situation. Try not to focus on what your friends achieved, and instead celebrate your own achievements and work on improving yourself. It's not a competition. Ok, so you got onto level 2. That's better than not getting on at all. Now, do your best at level 2. Keep improving and you will do well in the future. Forget about what they're doing and focus on gettng the best experience you can from this.

Good luck.

Do you wanna come with me? 'Cause if you do, then I should warn you - you're gonna see all sorts of things. Ghosts from the past. Aliens from the future. The day the Earth died in a ball of flame. It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: The trip of a lifetime!

RIP Granddad Terry. I'll miss you.
