Question Using Works Insurance Before Quitting? - June 18th 2013, 01:23 PM

Is it a bad idea to use my works benefits till I have my teeth fixed then quit with the 2 weeks notice? I can not handle my job anymore, it's become to demanding and I am under paid for the amount of work I have to do, it has effected my health, social life, mental health and I never bring my personal issues to work, I take work frustrations home with me. I recently got on benefits and I can't handle it anymore. I am handing in a resume and application today for another job and going to apply to more.

Thing is, I need to work full time, but when September comes I need to reduce the 40 hrs per week to at least 20 so I can focus on College and still be able to pay rent and bills, aside what I am being granted for School which isn't much when I know more than half will go towards school itself, so I need to worry about rent and food costs.

But is it bad that if I do find a job tomorrow and they want me to start in a week, to keep my other job so I can get my teeth fixed, I don't want to pay the full amount, my job covers most of the costs but I can not keep working for them and I want to save money on health costs, like drugs, dental, etc., it really helps.

I don't know if that is bad to do, to use my works insurance and suck it up till I get a new job before quitting to make sure those things are in fact done?

I don't think it'd be a big deal in America, unless it's like a small family-owned company or something. If I did that it's likely no one I work with would ever know.
