Finals - December 13th 2013, 07:20 PM

This is my first year as a freshman to take finals and I am stressed beyond belief. Some classes I'm sure I'll do fine as far as managing a decent grade in, but other's I'm really concerned with. Like, if I do bad on the final, I could possibly fail that class. I'm just getting overwhelmed with it all. Any advice?

I don't know when your finals start, but don't wait last minute to study. Get some sleep the night before, try not to pull an all nighter. I've found that re-writing notes helps me retain information, as well as having someone else do flash cards (if it's something like vocabulary or something you need to memorize). If you had teachers give a study guide, do it. Even if it seems unhelpful or stupid. Give yourself breaks while studying.

And most importantly, remember that nobody has ever died from failing a class. Breathe.

"We all have battle scars, Finn. Suck it up and build a brace for yours."

Finals are horrible awful torture devices used by teachers. On that note, you can never do better than your best and a lot of exams turn out to be easier than you thought they would be because you studied hard.

I speak form experience, those exams that can decide your grade (in a negative way) are the worst, but you can conquer them. And usually if you're most worried about those you study more and often retain more (I have found for me at least).

You'll get used to college exams! (just don't ever go to law school, because those exams are HORRIBLE)

Good luck!

The next time you feel down, just remember that Bruce Banner tried to kill himself
and Tony Stark has anxiety attacks, and they've both saved the world. You will be okay.
