Need advice-between jobs/degrees - December 5th 2014, 01:58 PM

Hi there,

I'm in a bit of a vocational pickle and I'm trying to get opinions to help sway my decision.

Basic background- Bachelor's degree, Master's program starts in June (requires me to take it full time). Thus, needing a part-time job to help pay for it.

Option 1: Continue applying to jobs, in schools, clinics etc to get a part-time job. Will obviously quit once I get my Master's and will also need them to be flexible with hours as I have class.

Option 2: Become a caretaker/glorified babysitter/nanny of sorts. Offers flexibility on schedule, better pay (believe it or not), allows me to move on after two years but looks pretty invisible on a resume.

If you were in my shoes, what would you do? Really hoping for some logical reasoning.

Well, I would go for a part time job. Even though babysitting pays more, jobs are good on resumes, and it will help in the future, too, knowing how to use time between classes and work and homework. Good luck!

I would continue to look for a part-time job. That will pay better than a babysitting job.
