Smile Anyone been to Bristol? Or Boston? - March 8th 2015, 08:09 AM

Hi there, so I'm finishing up my first year in high school (which has gone great), and I have to start thinking about my plans for uni, especially since I'm hoping to study abroad, in an english speaking country (I live in France, and I really want to go back to an english speaking country, which is my native language). My dad and I were speaking about me maybe taking a year off to do some travelling and exploring, to get some experience, especially with music. He was telling about Bristol, like how it was a very hip, progressive city, and then about Boston. So have any of you been to either of those cities? What's it like? I think it's better to ak one of you who have already been there rather than get some factual answer from wikipedia. If not, do you know of any other cities where I could get some musical experience? Thanks a lot!

Skye

Hmm, I have not, though I've heard that Portland is ranked pretty high on the list of hip and progressive. There's also the San Francisco Bay Area (where I am right now!) but it's quite a bit more expensive here if you're thinking of sticking around for a bit longer than just passing through.

Good luck with your travels!

Well, I guess it depends....do you mean Bristol and Boston in USA or UK?

Speaking from the UK side of things, I haven't been to those places, but I have heard that Bristol is very good for music and arts.
