You could always do it some other time (probably September) or you could probably get a 'predicted grade' if you ask about it, but i'm not completely sure, if you did a mock exam then that could probably be considered?

I think that if you had a good reason behind it they may let you take it some other time or you could always redo the GCSE next year?

Few things happen...either it was the "main" exam you missed, either you get an all out fail or your teacher submits a plea thing where you get your predicted grade.

You can give them a REALLY good reason for missing the exam, e.g. signed note that you were hospitalised or something and you are let to sit the exam again at a later date.

If it was a prelim exam, there isnt anything you can do without a REALLY good reason for missing it.

You will get a fail for the exam, if you just skipped it then there is nothing you can do about it. If you have a legit reason then possibly they can let you get a predicted grade using your mocks.

that's the thing though, i don't have mock results because i didn't do mocks. i tried asking my school but they said it's not to do with them because thats not my exam centre. and i do have a good reason for missing it, so perhaps i could contact the exam board? or do i get someone else to do that on my behalf?

Contact the exam board and you may need to get signitures/fill out paper work.

If the school isn't helping, I think that contacting the exam board would be your best option.
It's worth a try, at least.

Your school should be able to contact the exam board for you, and if you have a good reason then you should be able to re-sit it. (Although you will probably have to pay for that...scheming exam boards grr)
Or of course if you could contact the board yourself if your school is unwilling to..
I don't know about your school, but at mine we have a specific person who works there to talk to about anything concerning exam timetables, exam certificates, resits, etc.

There should be someone at your school who sorts everything out exam wise and contact the exam board for you since you have a reason for not attending it. If not then your best bet would be to contact the exam board directly yourself and hopefully they'll allow you to resit it.

You should still get a grade from coursework. I will be low but it will be a grade.

You can also resit GCSEs next May/June. Someone I know in 2nd year of college is resiting her maths GCSE because she needs a C to become a teacher.

I think first off, try contacting the exam board yourself and explaining the reason for not being there. If all else fails Im sure you can re-sit the exam, just like you could if you got an E and failed it that way.
