You can lose yourself. Everything. All boundaries. All time.

And just when the sweet confusion is so intense you think you're gonna die... you kind of do.

Leaving you alone in your separate body, but the one you love is still there.

That's a miracle.

You can go to heaven and come back alive. You can go back anytime you want with the one you love.

Re: What's your schedule? - September 4th 2009, 03:42 AM

I'm going to university in British Columbia, doing a double major in Near Eastern Studies and Math, and a minor in French. Odd combination, I know. For my first semester I have

- Matrix Algebra
- Introduction to World Archaeology
- Near Eastern and Biblical Mythology
- French Language and Style
- Beginners German

Second semester I'm taking

- French Language and Style
- Scriptures of the Near East
- Literature in English to the 18th Century
- Integral Calculus with Applications to Commerce and Social Sciences

The professor hasn't confirmed whether or not he's available to do it yet, but in the second semester, I may also be taking a course to practice reading hieroglyphic.

My classes haven't started yet but they will on the coming up Tuesday. The academic year for us is divided up into two semesters. All the courses unless otherwise specified are all third year courses. In my fourth year, I'll be taking more third-year psych and bio ones as those will be the ones I'm also very interested in.

First Semester

- Animal Behavior (lecture)
- Sociology, 1st year (lecture)
- Clinical Neuroscience (lecture)
- Forensic Psychology (lecture)

Second Semester

- Physiology of Nervous Systems (lecture and tutorial)
- Animal Behavior (lecture)
- Cognitive psychology, 2nd year (lecture)
- Communication in humans and animals, 2nd year (lecture)
- Cross-cultural psychology (lecture)

Next year, the courses will include:
As with above, all these unless otherwise specified are third-year courses

- Integrative Animal Physiology (lecture)
- Abnormal Psychology of adults (lecture)
- Abnormal psychology of children (lecture)
- Neuroplasticity (lecture)
- Motivational Systems (lecture)
- Functional Morphology of Animals OR Mammalian biology (lecture and labs/tutorials).. only going to take one of them, not both
- Human neuropsychology
- Some 2nd year sociology course
- various fourth-years

That sounds very intersered, hieroglyphics. If I could I would choose that one over any other elective.

I really hope he runs it. Over the summer he ran a course for us to practice reading, even though the university wouldn't pay him for it. It was a great class, and definitely above and beyond what a professor has to do. The students who took it (all four of us lol) were really grateful for it.

Only four hours a week for A Level? Harsh!

Yeah our timetables in the UK are weekly so it would be hard to explain

But I have 5 hours of A2 Chemistry, 5 hours of A2 Biology, 5 hours of A2 English Literature, 5 hours of A2 Maths (pure core 3, pure core 4, mechanics 1), 2 hours of Extended Project Award, 1 hour of GCSE Physics
I'm a peer supporter so I'd presume that my free periods will be taken up with that...

... no one needs sleep/food/relaxation time anyway

Tuesday
Maths > Maths > Maths > Maths > Lunch > free > free

Wednesday
Free > Free > Free > Free > Lunch > R.S > R.S

Thursday
Free > Free > Free > Free > Lunch > Maths > Maths

Friday
Bio > Bio > R.S > R.S > Lunch > R.S > R.S

We do block scheduling, so four classes a day, but we have them for 82 minutes and short lunches and study hall. There ar four terms in a year for us, so we usually take regular classes 2 terms, electives 1 term, and some AP's 3 terms.

A - AP Physics (term 1, 2, 3).............Politics and Debate (4)
B - World Novels Honors (1,2)............AP Government (3,4)
C - Sociology Honors (1)...................AP Calc (2,3,4)
D - AP Bio (1, 2, 3)..........................Nutrition (4) - mandatory gym class

Monday:
History x2 > Free > Break > Free x2 > Lunch > Free x2 > Break > Art x2

Tuesday:
Tutorial > History x2 > Break > French x2 > Lunch > French x2 > Break > Free x2

Wednesday:

Free x3 > Break > Art x2 > Lunch > Free x2 > Break > French x2
After school: Life Drawing

Thursday:
History x2 > Free > Break > Art x2 > Lunch > Free x2 > Break > Free x2

Friday:
Free x3 > Break > Art x2 > Lunch > History x2 > Break > French x2

'Frees' are actually our own 'study periods' where we have to do our own work in the study room or library, we're not allowed in the common room or out of school in those times. :/

Re: What's your schedule? - September 11th 2009, 12:31 AM

A: Religion 3
B: AP Physics B
C: AP U.S. History
AP English & Language Comp
E: AP Calculus AB
F: Extended Learning Time
G: (Honors) Latin 3

I put parentheses around the "Honors" in my Latin class because our new teacher definitely does NOT realize that this is supposed to be an honors class. Not many people seem to care besides me. But I will say that she IS a better teacher than my old one. I actually know all of my verb forms for the first time in my life besides the day of my sophomore Latin final!

As for my lunches, they switch every day due to a rotating schedule (except A & B, which are locked). I have Calc and English 1st lunches, History and Latin 2nd lunches, and ELT 3rd lunch.

And being in my physics class before 9AM is amazing. FAVORITE CLASS!

when you love and laugh abundantly you live a beautiful life.
