Arrow SAT help? - November 6th 2009, 05:45 AM

I know it's been so long since I last posted anything on TH. I've been busy with school and stuff. So far, I'm doing good. I managed not to fail anything just yet.

I'm having my SATs and it's really scaring the shit out of me. I registered online and my SAT date is on January 23, next year. Thing is, I registered my family name wrong. Does anyone here know if it's gonna be a problem when the I take the SAT? It was nothing big though, 'cause see, my family name shouldn't have an "a" in it and that's what went wrong. I typed it with an "a". I thought it was the right spelling I know, I'm dumb. I just knew the right spelling when I checked my ID and passport.

I tried to contact collegeboard.com but the number that's written there is not answering everytime I call! I sent them an email too but I don't think they'll reply...

I'm just worried.

I'm not sure if that will mess it up, but I wouldn't take the chance... Collegeboard can be pretty anal about proper forms and registration and ID and so on. (Hell, they make you show ID each time you leave and re-enter the testing room.) If none of the contact methods their website has listed are working for you, I'd consider bringing this up with a school counselor, who may be able to help you out somehow.

Best of luck.

I did talk to the school counselor but she didn't help. All she said was that she doesn't really know if it's gonna be a problem or not..

Hey Nora!
Maybe you should just keep trying the Collegeboard.
I don't think it would be a problem but as Lurk said, the Collegeboard can be pretty rough and quite strict.
Maybe you could even talk to your principal and see what can be done?

Best of luck!

I don't think the principal would help either. The school counselor didn't help, what else could the principal do? *Sigh..

I sent them an email earlier last night and I'll try to call them again.. I seriously hope it won't be a problem. I don't want to be all ready for the SAT and then end up not doing the test on that day

Thanks for answering. Appreciate it!

Hey Nora!
I'm so sorry the principal can't help! There should be some way or the other to get through to them! Maybe, even, just trying to call them a lot! =\

although, I really hope things work out for you!!
Best of luck!!
Hugs

You can edit your ticket online I believe. You have to fill out a form and then take it to the test site with you if you have a name or test center change.

Look at this page right here. It gives you instructions:

The SAT is more about test taking skills than your actual knowledge base. An SAT prep course will do you wonders. I increased my score by almost 100 points by taking one.
