For most colleges your junior and senior grades are the ones that count, but since Brown is a prestigious school it depends on they're admissions policy.

I would honestly talk to an admissions counselor about how it will affect you. Normally your freshman year isn't looked at too closely, like Katie said, your junior and senior year are more important. I would focus on the classes you have no and try to do your best. You should like a very successful student and that you are working hard towards your goals. Remember that your extra activities can help when you enter a college, and it sounds like you have a lot of them. I think that if you just continue you will be fine.
If you talk to school counselor now it could also help you figure out where you need to go with your life. |

A few questions:
What will your transcript actually show for your freshman year? Cs or Bs? -If you got a flat 3.0, and then pulled a 3.9+ rest of high school, you will be fine. Are you an under represented minority? -Helps a lot... Have you talked to a Brown's admissions officer? -I know it sounds lame, but if you are talking to them about admissions standards in sophmore year, they will be a little impressed by your interest. Even though it's just a small note on your profile, it looks good. Are you still taking honors classes? -Obviously, it is nigh impossible to get into an Ivy if you don't take a heavy workload. Reallyyyy work hard on your extra curriculars that involve your creative talent, it will make you seem unique and a solid addition to the Brown's hipster community ![]() I felt like I needed to respond because I already applied to Brown last week. GPA 3.53 UW / 3.8ish W, 34 ACT, 2180 SAT, plus I submitted my 4 best short stories, my mediocre artwork, and my band's reallyyy shitty demo. So if I get accepted/denied, you will have some reference point good luck! "We will ask nothing. We will demand nothing. We will take." -- May 1968, French Graffiti
