I want to drop out - February 4th 2010, 06:00 PM

SO I found out today I failed half of my mock exams, and nearly failed the other 2.
I just can't stand putting all this work I'm putting in, getting to a test to realise that everything I've done has been a waste of time ; ;
Anyone know how I can bring this up in a convo with my mum and get her to realise I'm being serious and not wanting to drop out because I'm lazy?

Just be honest with her, tell her about failing the other ones, and it seems pointless carrying on putting the work in if your still not going to pass, find out if theres something else you want to do?

Don't drop out. Don't give up.
I wanted to give up. So badly. I almost didn't graduate high school. But i worked hard, and that work did really pay off. Now that i have my high school diploma.

Just be honest with your mom, that is all you can really do.

I know what I'd like to do, I'd like to train as a veterinary nurse, which I have more than enough grades to do so from high school.
Also I'd like to do some volunteer work at an animal rehabilitation centre in Africa.

Why dont you talk to her and first explain what you would like to do.
That way she will understand its because you have other goals in life that you want to achieve and start working for instead of what youre doing now.

At my school Vet Tech is the biggest major and a large amount of my friends are in the program. I've heard it's very hard and grueling most of the time. Even through that I've heard it's worth it.

If that's what you really want then don't give up, just steel yourself and keep trying.

If you do decided to drop out just tell your mom the truth and don't act like a child about it. You have to show her that you've thought it through.

Don't base it all on mock exams though, give yourself a chance.
