New Career/Money Issues - February 6th 2010, 10:08 PM

Okay... So I am soon to be starting an EMR course and then a few months later I will be starting an EMT-A course. I am somewhat excited because I may actually be starting a career and getting out of my low paying job that somedays I love and other days I really truly hate.

The issue? Money.. amongst other things.

My parents have said that they will help me but the problem here is.. I actually make more than them. I make about $750 every two weeks, which may seem like a lot.. and a few years ago I would have agreed. The problem is, I have a LOT of bills. (rent $300, student loans $500, car $300, insurance $120, cell $80, credit card $100 [until it's paid off which may be awhile].. and then of course there is gas and other things like groceries and these are all every month). As you can see this doesn't leave me with alot.

On top of all that I am in the middle of paying my dad back $1000 ($500 more to go). Now that my mom has registered me for the course I now owe her $1000... after that, I need to write a test which is $700 and then apparently I need to get a license which is $400. Meanwhile during the course (luckily it's only 2 weeks), I won't be working because it's in a different city.

And all this has me more and more worried... what if (I know.. you should never think in 'what ifs') I get through all of this and .. I don't want to do it? o.o

Okay.. maybe this is more of a rant but any help or anything.. anyone can give would be great.

(oh and yes... I do write out a budget.. and I try to make it 'better' quite often).

Money seems to be the biggest issue for college, I think most people go through it so it's nothing to be ashamed of.. I don't know. Even when things look tight or tough just hang in there and a solution will eventually pop its head up, just try not to stress about it and know that even if it gets tough sometimes there's a light at teh end of the tunnel

Love life, reading, TV and music.. oh yeah and old Nickelodeon re-runs! Cheap books for any struggling college kids! http://www.booklookr.com
