How to Quit - August 4th 2010, 12:17 AM

So I posted a thread awhile ago about how I wanted to quit my job at a pizza shop. And so, knowing that I should get another job before I quit the pizza shop, I looked around for another job. And I got one, whoot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to be a cashier at a grocery store. It pays more and it's a place I've always wanted to work at.
So tomorrow I'm going to go over to the pizza shop and tell them that I'm quitting, really nervous about that. If you saw my other thread, reason number 3 is why.

Any tips on how I should quit would be appreciated.

You're amazing just the way you are

Most managers prefer it if you give them a written letter of resignation.. Also, you should try and give them 2 weeks notice, because that way they can find a replacement..

A basic letter would say this.

Dear _________,

This is my official letter of resignation. My last day of employment will be __________. Thank you for the opportunity to work here, thank you for the experience that will help me int he future.

From _____________.

“You are braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think.”

Yes you should give a two week notice. Even if it is not written. This does two things, it gives them a chance to find a replacement and also makes them more likely to put a good word for you in for a furture employer.
