Don't You Hate It When... - October 27th 2010, 02:58 PM

You're writing an essay, editing an essay, printing out an essay that you KNOW is bad, but that you can't fix or make better? That's what happened to me last night -.- I never know what to do in circumstances like that. I mean, I met with a writing tutor earlier on and reworked my entire paper, but even after, it just seemed inadequate. It was a very different style/organization of a paper that was completely ridiculous, but still =\

Anyways, just wondering if it happens to you, and what you might do to fix the paper!

Oo I had that last night too! I always wonder what I can do to make it better, but then I realize that even if you think/know it's bad, the reader of your paper might find it really good. I bet your essay is good!

I tend to start again, becaus if I think it's shite it probably is and when things have gone that downhill with an essay I'm not able to just adjust it. Clean slate, re-do a I'm normally happy.

It's fine to have one.
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around.
And PLEASE don't try and shove it down my throat.

I stress about school all the time. I always feel my work is completely inadequate so I try to ignore that thought. However, ignoring those thoughts are easier said then done so what I do is find an objective person to read my work and critique it. That seems to really help because then they can tell me if there are things I need to clarify, if there are grammatical errors etc. The next time you have that happen maybe you could give that a shot. Although, I bet your essay was perfect just the way it was! Try not to stress you shall do fine!

This always happens to me! I HATE it. But sometimes I ask people in my class if they can send me theirs.. not to copy, but to get an idea of where I'm going wrong and what's making mine so bad etc.

That always happens to me. I either eat the essay or burn it.

When that happens to me, I do one of three things. If I haven't done much work, delete it all and start fresh. Second, if I have a good amount done, save it and start over but look back at what you wrote before as a guide. Lastly, and what I do regardless, stop writing and have a quick break, then think of what I want and write it down immediately. Depending when it's due, resume next day.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.

I hate when that happens! What I usually do is get somebody to look over it - like my mum or sister - and see if a) it's actually inadequate, and b) if it is, how I could improve it.

This is happening to me now with my Health and social coursework. I have nearly finished it and it is due tomorrow...

I am not too worried because it is coursework my teacher is going to mark it and make corrections and give me it back to redraft so I get a few more chances at it, or if I am happy with the grade I can submit it
