Maybe speak to your mum first, and tell her that you'd prefer it if just she comes in. I'm sure she'll be able to talk to your father and sort something out.

Well, I don't think the tutors can talk to your parents without your permission. Does your tutor know that your parents want to talk to him or her?

I agree with what Tayla said. Talk to your mum first, she can either talk to your dad for you or help you with what to say.. Or you can get your tutor to call your mum, or go in with your mum when your dads not home. Either way he may be upset about it.

Good luck

Why not tell the tutor about your parent(s) coming and forewarn them about your father? Or, couldn't you tell the tutor to not come at the time when your parents are coming so your father cant talk to the tutor? In place of the tutor's absence, you could ask the tutor if they would be willing to write a letter documenting your performance in detail. It may not stop your father from being angry but at least it gives your parents an indication of your performance and stops your dad from being angry at the tutor face-to-face.

But if I were you, I'd just let both them come and meet the tutor. Your father may be angry if you ask him not to come, be angry at the tutor, your performance, tutor being absent or angry about something else. It's inevitable that if he's pesimisstic with a short temper, he'll be angry before you can stop him, so let them come and on the way, possibly meet some friends of yours. Let them come and give feedback as I doubt they'd want to do this only once. Make it easier and with better results for the later visits.

I can rip you off, and steal all your cash, suckerpunch you in the face, stand back and laugh. Leave you stranded as fast as a heart-attack.
