Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr - November 30th 2010, 02:59 AM

I need to write a 4-page analysis for this story. (Well, it's the story that I chose, anyway...) If any of you have read it, I would greatly appreciate any input on specific things that I should point out in my essay. My professor wants us to include any symbolism that we found in the story... "quote sandwiches" from the story, and also sources from other essays that support our idea of what the story was about...

So obviously the story was about how the government controlled peoples' every move. I'm going to re-read the story tomorrow morning, but I'd definitely love to have some input. I've been stressed about this paper for awhile and it's finally getting down to crunch time and I need to actually start doing something with it. I'd appreciate all the help I can get. Thank you.

We read this essay before we started our unit on satire in my AP Lit class.
I'd reference "A Modest Proposal" by Jonathan Swift and/or Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (though I think the latter is a better fit).

Thank you so much! I'll check those out.
Other than those, though, do you know of a website that will allow me to read other essays without being charged for it? Every website that I find wants me to pay to view the essays... and all I need is a quote or two to add to my essay so I can at least have a couple sources.

I checked those out, but they don't look like they're essays about the story... That's more what I'm looking for. Analytical essays for Harrison Bergeron.
