Motivation? - February 28th 2011, 12:57 PM

I think there's been a thread like this before but I can't find it.

Basically, I'm lacking motivation to do my schoolwork.

How can I motivate myself to do more revision? One of my university offers is BBC and I'm considering accepting it but I'm not sure if I can get that if I carry on like I have been doing.

Also, once I've started revision I tend to get bored/distracted so how can I keep myself concentrating or how can I keep revision fun?

A lot of revision material is on the computer so I just find myself wandering to Facebook or to the chat room here which doesn't really help.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Re: Motivation? - March 1st 2011, 05:33 PM

I think for me, a rewards system works best. Like if I study for two hours, then I can read or watch t.v. for thirty minutes. It gives me the motivation I need to sit down and just focus knowing when the two hours are up, I can completely relax for thirty minutes.

I also find changing up how I study helps keep it from getting boring. Whether it's studying with a group one night and then alone the next or simply changing my studying materials. With yours being all on the computer that might be a bit more difficult, but there might be something there you can do.

One last thing, change up where you study if you can. The library, at home, in the park, etc. It's much less boring when you aren't sitting in the same place all the time.

Hope this helps!
