Official UK Results Thread 2011 -
August 2nd 2011, 09:44 PM
Hi guys,
We've had threads like this in the past and it's coming up to that time again. A Level results are on the 18th and GCSEs are the week after that, right? How's everyone feeling and what are you expecting? I am personally trying not to think about it too much since everytime I do I go into panic mode. I know I've got the C grade I need from Biology (possibly more than a C) and I'm fairly confident about getting the C I need from Psychology (possibly more than a C in that too) but I am absolutely not sure about Chemistry. If I get a C or above in Bio/Psych then I only need a D in Chemistry but the A2 exams went awfully so I'm not sure if I've done it. I'm hoping the AS exams and the practical work can pull my grade up. ![]() |

Damn it Cara, WHY!
EDIT: Suppose I should have a proper reply now I have calmed down. Basically it is like this, my firm wants a B in Bio, C in RS and CC in H&Sc. My insurance wants 240 points but want 80 to be in bio (which is a C) so I need BCD or CCC. My Health and Social coursework is all A's and my 1st exam was a B. Even if I didn't turn up to my June exam I would have got BB so I am pretty confident I got an AA or AB in that (It is a double award so I get two marks) R.S I got a D last year and in my resit I only needed a low E to get my C overall so I'm confident I got a C in R.S maybe even a B. Even if I keep my D I can still get into my insurance choice. Biology I need a B for my firm choice and a C for my insurance choice. I highly doubt I have got a B though because I needed a B in my last exam to get a high B overall. I needed a high E/low D to get my C overall but the exam was borderline so I am not sure how I have done but I feel ok about it. I keep feeling confident that I have got into my insurance but then I don't know for sure so I am still panicky. I actually prefer my insurance to my firm now anyway so I don't mind. I get panicky at moments like on Thursday it will be 2 weeks til results day. I think panic will start properly on the Sunday before results day because that is when Uni's get sent our results and start processing everyone's offers and rejections. |

I was wondering when this thread would pop up..
![]() I'm waiting on AS results for French, Film Studies, Sociology and Psychology. At the moment, I'm feeling okay about it all, HOWEVER I'm sure I'll start worrying a few days before. :/ I've already got an A in Film Studies as we did the exam early (which I then resat) and then my coursework gave me an overall A. I'm predicted As in the other 3 subjects as well, but I felt my sociology exam went awful. I'm hoping I didn't do as bad as I thought, though. Good luck to everyone waiting on results.

Thousands of Scottish high school students received their results a day early due to a mistake today. Love it. The exams this year across the UK, from early results to impossible questions, have been ridiculous. Having said that, good luck to everyone awaiting results.

Oh. Dear. God. I'm dreading it. So anxious about it. For sixth form I need at least a C in english & maths, at least a B in both sciences, and obviously at least two other pass grades. No problem getting 5 A*-C grades at all. But I messed up english. To me anything less than an A is a personal fail, and there's no way I got an A. I doubt I got the Bs in science as my mind went blank and I had chattery idiots either side of me. So that would be psychology out the window. Maths I'm fairly confident I got a B. History...no comment. Drama I'm okay about. I don't think I'll get into sixth form though.

Oh my God I'm panicking so much! Mainly because I'm not even in the country when the results come out, so I'll have to wait until September.
I don't even know why I'm worried. It's only my Year 10 results. I'll get my final maths mark, as I did that GCSE a year early. But the others will only be my 3rd Bio/Physics/Chem modules and some English controlled assessment results. AND I'm predicted all A*s. Next year will be hell though. My education and exam results are literally the most important things in my life:/ Good luck everyone!<3 LiveHelpOperator|TalentCommittee RIP Grandad xxx |

Attainment across Scotland appears to be up this year. Good to hear, though I'm not surprised considering they made the English exam a lot easier this year with some of your grade being calculated through classwork...And the whole top-up program made it easier for people to get into university.

I personally think gcse results shouldn't be such a big part of someone's future, what stops some from being ill during school thus hindering their final grade?
on topic, I'm as nervous as fudge. |

Had a little cry to my mum today. I stated think about if I didn't get in, I can't go through what I went through last year again.
Also grade bounderies go up on Wednesday for most exam boards like OCR and edexcel. AQA's go up on Thursday. |

I'm actually really nervous about it now and I'm only getting my AS results.
I just want to know how I've done now. Agh.Anyway, what time does everyone's college/school open on results day? Mine opens at 10am for A2 students and 1pm for AS students. Apparently a local radio station will be there and people can open their results live on air. I don't think I could ever do that.. xD |

My school is opening at 9am but it'll probably be an hour until we get our results like it was last year.
I've booked my accommodation early now since I can't take waiting and if I do get in then all the places will be gone by the time I get to apply. They're nice and give you a 2-week period to cancel it and get your money back if I don't get in so it's all good. I'm so nervous about it now. Chemistry is going to fail me I just know it

I'm planning an all nighter too.
Also I'm going to use my webcam to video myself logging in to UCAS. I probably won't upload it anywhere but if I get in somewhere my reaction will be interesting and I would be a good thing to keep and it will be good to watch my initial natural reaction back. I am also going to spend the night blogging on Tumblr as I slowly go insane all night so that should be interesting. My college opens at 10am which is actually pretty late really considering Clearing lines open at 8am. A lot of places around here send out the results at 6am via email. My college is new and this is the first year they have had an A2 results day so they are still organising things. Ah well I will still be up checking UCAS at random times throughout the night and the constantly from 6am onwards. I feel confident that I have got into my insurance choice but hopefully I will get a better idea tomorrow when grade boundaries are released. |

Haha yeah I haven't joined any facebook groups yet. I did that last year and I was getting event invites for freshers week after results day when I hadn't got in and it made everything worse.
Chances are I will be in chat, tumblr, facebook, TSR and anything else I can think of to keep me busy. |

I took exams in German, History, English Lang. , Science [Core] and Maths. I am expecting A's in everything :/ Bit of a big expectation to live up to.
But I've been getting A's in all of my coursework and mocks... I just hope I get the grades... It'll mean I get into sixth form with only having to get one A*-C in Year 11. Quote:

Lmao. I genuinely have no idea, I didn't revise for any of them except maths (which I failed anyway), History (low B) and RS, which I guess paid off although, not to be arrogant, I didn't really need to, as I have a fairly good grasp of the syllabus up to the end of year 11 anyway. I really don't know, but I'm happy, although I'd be even happier if those were my final GCSE results xD

I'm getting my GCSE results next Thursday, I took exams in Math, English Language and Lit, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Music, Sport, History and PSE.
I need 5 A*-C and B's in all Sciences, Maths and Music to do what i want at A levels. I'm hoping for straight A's and A*'s but i don't know if that will happen lol. |

OCR Grade boundaries for the June exams can be found here http://www.ocr.org.uk/download/admin...daries0611.pdf
OCR UMS boundaries for overall marks can be found here http://www.ocr.org.uk/download/admin...n_jun_2011.pdf Just worked out I need 68 UMS in Unit 5 Bio exam to get a C overall. For the grade boundaries 68 is a mid E. I feel a lot better now. I can't find the AQA grade boundaries but then I do I will post them up. |
