Can she still come on a J1?? - March 4th 2012, 10:34 AM

So myself and a couple of friends are hoping to go on a J1 to America for a couple of months of the summer ~ we're hoping to start organising it tonight. My three guy friends all still have a couple of college years to go, and I'll be finished college in a few months but will still be eligible.

However, I'm worried that my female friend won't be able to apply. She completed a one-year further education course two years ago and last year started studying in Napier University in Scotland...then she came back for this year, planning to take a year out at home. She got a job and then confessed to me last week she probably won't go back to keep studying in Edinburgh.

So can she still apply for a J1 Visa?? She's definitely planning on returning to Ireland after the summer but she's currently not in full-time education. I really want her to come, and also I don't really want to be stuck going away with three guys...I love them, but I want some female company. Do you think she'll be able to work around this somehow??
