Am I the only Diver on here? -
January 18th 2010, 04:06 PM
I was just wondering since diving is not all that popular and when I tell someone I'm a diver they think scuba and I have to explain no I'm a springboard diver, I would be a plat form one to if we had them at the pool. Anyways anyone else on here a diver? Or just like watching them and is fasinated with all the diffrent kinds of dives?

I'm a swimmer and the divers practice with us, like in their own part of the pool.
I LOVE watching divers. Oh man, watching them smack is so much fun. Haha. I'm amazed by how well they are able to do flips and only learn it in a few short weeks. |

Smack part is not that fun 2 weeks ago I was to close to the board and smacked my foot on it and couldn't dive for a week, and my caoch is still hesitent about it because I bruised it pretty badly.

It doesn't matter how good you are. I don't think I'm that good.

I only learnt how to dive last year and I actually really enjoyed it. I learnt within a first week of my holiday and for the rest of the holiday all I did was dive to catch things off the bottom of the pool.
I wish I could do more but where I live there are no boards, no training sessions or lessons so it is difficult to learn. I really enjoy watching diving though and I think Tom Daley has done a lot to help promote the sport. I think watching it is really hypnotic sometime when they are spinning and doing flips... |

I don't dive, but I looove swimming and jumping off the diving boards at our pool. I don't do anything fancy though; I'd be too afraid of hurting myself.

Anyways the reason they seem so good is the fact that there parents when there about 3 years old pick a sport out for them and get a great caoch and they are forsed to do that sport and go to the olympics. It's like coaches in china scot for little kids they think would be great in there sport then tell the parents and then the kids get forsed into it wheather they like it or not. As the smoke clears
