Ultimate Frisbee

I'm curious if there are any other people on this site who play ultimate frisbee. I play with a group ever Monday night during the summer, and we usually play about a 45 minute game, take a break, then play another game. It's a hell of a workout and it's extremely fun.

It's kind of like a weird cross between American football, soccer, and rugby. The idea is to score a goal by having someone catch the frisbee in the endzone. You're divided into teams (of course). You can throw the frisbee to anyone you want, BUT...

-If the frisbee hits the ground before anyone touches it, the other team gets it at the spot it first hit
-If the other team catches the frisbee, it's theirs.
-Once you have caught the frisbee, you cannot move. You're allowed two steps if you were running, just so you can stop, but you cannot walk/run to get a better position to throw the frisbee
-At the beginning of the game, or after a point is scored, a "kickoff" ensues; the scoring team throws the disc as far down the field as they can, and the other team can either catch it or let it fall; either way, they will start with the disc.

It's easiest to explain by watching for about five minutes.

I play ultimate frisbee (but not for an official team or anything) and I love it! Brilliant fun, and a great time to spend with my friends.

Oh that sounds pretty cool! If I was any good a frisbee I'd try playing but i'd end up with a black eye Glad you have fun playing it.

I played Ultimate Frisbee for my high school's varsity team for four years when I was in high school. It was a lot of fun. Only problem? When it was cold/raining, the frisbee *killed* when it hit you.

I actually LOVE ultimate frisbee. I played it with a huge group when I was in high school, now I don't.
But it was always so much fun.

You're supposed to play in crappy weather. That makes it even more fun! What's the point of playing an outdoor sport if you don't get some elements sometimes?

Yes, it's impossible to play in snow. But in rain or cold.... I'll play anyway.

I play it every saturday after high school. We've got an artificial turf so it's even more amazing. They're all boys though, so they almost never throw it my way. -__-

But still, I find it to be the most fun I can possibly have repeatedly running up and down a football field. I don't know why but I don't seem to get tired when we play. I wish there were tournaments where I live!

I have to confess it's the ONLY sport i'll play. I played it with my GCSE p.e group and we got seriously into it...

If someone of the opposing team had the frisbe, we would scream and growl until they got so scared they threw it in a random direction.
When we stood at either end of the pitch we would bad mouth the other team (in a friendly way) and when the frisbe was airbourne, twas like a battlefield

I was very bad at p.e, but NOT at ultimate frisbe.

I've played it in gym class before, my teacher described it as "the one sport I'm finally good at."
