ROLLER DERBY

Hey everyone!

So I just watched the movie Whip It! and am now obsessed with roller derby! I contacted my local team and they've invited me to come along to their practises. I've never played before but have some roller blading experience (I know roller derby is on quad skates not blades), I'm stuck on what skates to get though! I don't want to splash out on expensive ones incase I don't take to the sport but I don't want to get crappy skates that might cause me an injury. Anyone experienced can advise me what to get.. point me in the right direction or have been in the same circumstance??

I'd appreciate any advice on roller derby (even if it's not about skates!) just in general

It might be best to ask your local team about which skates to buy when you go to their practises.

Sorry, I don't have any experience in this at all, but I enjoyed the movie and wanted to relate. Maybe someone else might have experience with this and will be able to give you some advice.

Ring them and ask if you can borrow skates for a practice or two, no point splashing out if you dont like it.
