Dancing - April 30th 2011, 02:44 PM

How much dancing does anyone else do? For a while I was doing five different dance classes a week at my dance school, helping out with six younger classes on a saturday morning and attending a dance youth group on a sunday. Now I've had to stop the dance group because it's too awkward to get too but I still do the rest. Does anyone think that's a bit excessive for me during my GCSE year?

I used to be a cheerleader so I did cheer three hours a day, five days a week.
I also took hip hop classes, ballet and jazz. I also did a dance camp.
I don't dance much anymore because well, I'm in college. I do miss it though.

If "Just Dance 2" counts, then I dance quite often. Hehe.

For 15 years, I went to a dance school where I did ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and lyrical. I also do a lot of Just Dance

I used to do ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, and pointe.
Now, I dance when I go out and stuff like that. Obviously a different kind of dance than the ones mentioned.

I done irish dance for 6 1/2 years, not too sound cocky; i done quite well, and won quite alot of bigg-ish competitions!
I quit simply because i got bored of it, i wanted a social life other than school and dancing- the amount of dedication you have to put it is unreal, my whole weekends i was dancing 10am-5pm then on 3 evenings after school. I got tired of it.

I did tap, ballet, and jazz for 6 years and would've gotten to pointe. Then I just didn't have time anymore when I got into high school.
I miss dancing like crazy though. Maybe I'll start dancing again, but I don't know.

Re: Dancing - May 15th 2011, 03:08 AM

I don't take classes as much now, but I've done ballet, modern, ballroom, and some choreographed dances for musicals. Hopefully this summer I can dance again. Took a class last semester at my uni and am taking a class (although zumba not ballet) next semester. I say if you love it, then do it. If you plan to have a career in it, then do it. Dancing is fun and it is a release from everything. I dance whenever I have the free time, hopefully a lot this summer, and when I go a few days without it I hate it. I miss dancing, it's part of my life.

Re: Dancing - May 15th 2011, 12:39 PM

I don't think it's too much at all, as long as you aren't getting stressed out and are managing to keep your grades up.

I used to dance loads. But GCSE's got in the way and people at the dance school were becoming very bitchy.
I used to do a 2 hour Ballroom class, A 2 hour Latin class, 1 hour private latin, 1 hour private ballroom, 40 minute champ class and 1 1/2 hour musical theatre.
I have completely stopped dancing for the time being but hopefully I'll be starting back up again after July.

I don't think you can ever dance too much <3
