Any other Pencil/Portrait Artists? -
September 26th 2010, 05:45 PM
Recently I've found that a lot of the other portrait artists working with graphite are doing their portraits on smaller paper like 6"x5" or something similar. I would think it would make it easier in some aspects but harder because of details and such. I usually do my portraits on 11x14" paper so I can fit more details in. Any other artists here have any thoughts on it or your paper size?
Also I love seeing work of other artists so I guess this could be a show off your work thread too. Whether it be portraits, paintings, or anything! Here's one of my portraits (other work is here http://xxemobearxx.deviantart.com/):

I work on A4 or larger if I'm doing any portrait work - I work better on larger scales. If you want to see any of my portraits theyre [here] - there's a few of them on different pages (I don't want to post them on a forum without being watermarked). As you can see, I vary in style and medium. I could probably work on a little less than A4 if I worked in graphite, but otherwise I doubt I'd consider working on a smaller scale.
