Paranormal Activity - October 16th 2009, 03:03 PM

Has anyone seen it?

My friend wants me to go but I am pretty much chicken. I have heard mixed results about it.

Hah, I liked the faces of the audience as they were watching it.

I`ve actually never heard of this movie before, maybe if it`s in theaters near me i`ll see it, or i`ll end up renting it when it comes out on dvd.

I just saw it tonight, honestly I don't see what the big deal is. It was not scary at all and lacked plot.

I seriously don't know what these people are thinking. One of the best scary films I've seen. If this isn't too your standards then I don't know what else is. I cried in fear I was so scared.

When all your friends have come and gone,
And the sun no longer shines,
And the happiness for which you long is washed away like an ocean's tide,
When all the hard times outweigh the good,
And all your words are misunderstood,
When the day seems lost from the start
You must follow your heart,
You must follow your heart.

Re: Paranormal Activity - October 30th 2009, 10:58 AM

It wasn't that scary. I mean I hate ALL sorts of scary films so of course I was freaked, but I actually fell asleep at one point.
But I was in the theater with about 20 kids from my school and we couldn't stop making fun of it.
Or staring at the girl's boobs.
The ending freaked everyone out though.
But I think the only reason it was truly scary is because it was made to seem like reality... like this did and could happen to someone.

The trailer someone posted makes it seem very scary.... but it's really not... glad I didn't blow the money to go see it in theaters.

Re: Paranormal Activity - November 6th 2009, 10:37 PM

Hmm. I went and saw it last night because the hype about it was insane and I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I wasn't scared at all, and I found the beginning of it boring. My friend was terrified though, and she probably won't be able to go to sleep for weeks now.

I do think it gets scarier near the end though, and pretty much everyone in the audience was holding their breath. Hah, once it was over there was all this nervous laughter. Oh, and this is totally the type of movie where even if you're not freaked out in the theater you go home and you're all alone and you start thinking it's going to happen to you, so people who overthink scary movies should probably avoid this one

Starts out really slow, and it gets..kinda good by the end of it. Not as horribly scary as everyone says, though.

I personally thought it was a great movie. It's one of those that you either hate or love, though. Some people thought that all the subtle things weren't quite enough while others were flipping out halfway through the movie. I highly suggest it though.

After looking at the trailer, I have to say it looks pretty lame. A lamp is swinging back and forth, random footprints, a door slams, etc... all while it's somewhat dark. I suppose it could give you random shocks but wouldn't be something that would leave you terrified. I also don't see a plot in it other than random crap happening in the dark through sometimes shitty cameras. I'd only go to see it if there was a free viewing with free food, otherwise having random stuff happen over and over again when you expect the movie to have random stuff gets to be something that would put you to sleep.

I can't wait to see it!

I don't think it meant to be slasher and gory, or even ''scary''

More sort of, tense, and jumpy. I think it looks like it'll be more effictive in the cinema.

I wanna see it 'cause it's one of those movies everyone is talking about!

haha.

I saw it today and I loved it. To start with, I didn't think much because it wasn't that scary but the more the film went on, the scarier it got, the ending is so unexpected though.

It was alright, but having seen numerous paranormal documentaries - they could have definitely made it scarier easily and due to that was somewhat disappointed.

Believe me, it isn't that scary or realistic. One of the guys who recommended the movie to me kept on saying 'ITS REAL' and then told me later that he was only saying that because its not that scary. I think they made the movie in a week or something, so for wait it is, I guess its not too bad. But I do have high standards when it comes to horror movies :P

It's all mixed opinions I've gotten..
Friend in the US said it sucked and you could see how everything was done.
Music teacher at the school said it starts out slow but ends up terrifying.
What's even more scary is that I'm definitely going, but not for another two weeks, I have all that time to freak out about it, isn't that fantastic? =D

I was hugely disappointed in this movie. I was excited to see it, and then after like 30mins in, I was bored to death. The movie could have just been cut down to like 10mins.
